When deciding whether to invest in polished concrete flooring, it’s important to remember that while it may be a costly exercise at the beginning, you will be left with results that will last a lifetime. In effect, it could save you money in the long-term.

There are many benefits to having polished concrete floors in your home – it’s particularly hard-wearing, lasts a lifetime, is environmentally friendly to conduct, and is scratch resistant. This means you’ll be doing less cleaning and won’t have to pay for flooring repairs and maintenance, as is necessary with timber and tiles.

The cost of concrete floor polishing is calculated on a square metre rate, and also varies depending on whether you are choosing the more expensive HiPERFLOOR method or the less expensive option of a grind and seal.

When quoting the cost of the process, we also take into consideration the condition of the concrete and whether we need to conduct any repairs or apply a densifying and solidifying product.

Which Concrete Floor Polish Is Right For You?

A grind and seal polishing job is a cost-effective option for those who want the look of polished concrete, but might only need it for smaller or outdoor areas. With the grind and seal method, the floor is ground only a few times to expose the desired amount of stone. We’ll then fill in any cracks if necessary, and apply some coats of seal to give the floor that shiny finish.

The HiPERFLOOR process is much more extensive and is suitable for indoor areas only. Because there are more processes involved in HiPERFLOOR flooring, it does cost more to complete. For this option, we use machines with diamond abrasives to grind down the surface to the desired level of exposure. This process is repeated thousands of times until a high shine is achieved. One of the main attractions of HiPERFLOOR is that it is the concrete itself that shines, as opposed to any coatings or sealers that can wear away.
